The European Green Deal states that "energy storage and carbon capture, storage and utilization” is one of the priority areas to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of 55 % by 2030 and to become carbon neutral by 2050.

The project has received funding from the European Partnership on Metrology, co-financed by European Union Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme and from the Participating States.

A3.2.2 – Literature survey on the influence of temperature, pressure, material, tubing length and the specifications that are used for the sampling lines in the online measurement of the key impurities in CO2

The report has focused on CO2 sampling from high-pressure CO2 sources, such as, e.g. pipelines and gas cylinders. Influence of CO2 pressure, temperature, gas composition and sampling apporach onto (impurities) measurements in CO2 is discussed. A role of coatings for impurity measurements has been described. A new sampling approach has been suggested for accurate impurity measurements in CO2 in the high-pressure gas phase.
