The European Green Deal states that "energy storage and carbon capture, storage and utilization” is one of the priority areas to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of 55 % by 2030 and to become carbon neutral by 2050.

The project has received funding from the European Partnership on Metrology, co-financed by European Union Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme and from the Participating States.

METCCUS Seminar on Metrology Support for Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage achieves high-level of engagement and participation.

On the 26th of October 2023, the public Seminar on Metrology Support for Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage attracted a high level of participation online.

The event brought together experts from metrology and industry to discuss and present their solutions for the measurement challenges faced by the CCUS industry. The invited speakers addressed key measurement needs related to CO2 flow metering, emissions monitoring, chemical composition and physical properties.

MetCCUS is a first-of-a-kind project aiming at solving metrology challenges along the CCUS chain.
